A legendary Maliwan shield that mixes spike retaliation with a ranged counterattack. Melee attackers take corrosive damage on contact, while bullet hits cause the shield to launch a slow homing corrosive spike back at the shooter.

That projectile can drift wide, miss very close targets, switch to a nearer enemy while traveling, and gets blocked by solid cover.

Only bullet impacts launch the spike. Most other ranged damage does not. Reflected rounds that hit you can still trigger it.

The launched spike deals corrosive splash damage and benefits from grenade-damage bonuses. Kills from the spike can activate Blood Bath, but they do not count toward the Game of Thorns challenge. The spike can also damage you if it detonates too close. Impaler can spawn with the Alkaline prefix for corrosive immunity, but it cannot roll other elemental immunities.
