A legendary Tediore shield that is thrown like a Tediore reload when it breaks, detonating on impact and also releasing an explosive nova. It generally trades shield capacity for faster recharge, but its gimmick is far more memorable than its raw performance.

Enemies killed by the thrown shield blast count toward the Boomerbang challenge, and the nova benefits from grenade-damage bonuses.

In True Vault Hunter Mode and Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode, its damage falls off hard because of enemy health scaling. Its name and flavor text reference the phrase "from the cradle to the grave," fitting the idea of the shield being tossed away when it runs out. Elemental prefixes can also read awkwardly because they appear before "The," as in "Blast Proof The Cradle."
