Slagy is part of a small fixed-element SMG set that always rolls with a Maliwan barrel, giving it boosted status chance and slightly cleaner accuracy. Because slag damage-over-time is inherently weak, its real job is not killing by itself but applying slag quickly so you can swap to a harder-hitting weapon and capitalize on the damage bonus.
