The Smig is defined largely by its barrel roll. Tediore versions reload faster and handle more cleanly at the cost of damage, Bandit versions hit harder but lose accuracy, and Maliwan versions improve accuracy while also boosting elemental chance if the gun rolls an element. Its unusually large magazine gives it a clear identity no matter which barrel it draws.

It always comes with an exceptionally large magazine. Salvador's Filled to the Brim and Krieg's Blood-Filled Guns can keep it firing for a very long time, which makes it strong for clearing groups. A comparable Scav-made weapon in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is the SMG.
