A Jakobs shotgun built more like a precision cannon than a broad close-range sweeper. Its tight pellet cluster, strong critical-hit performance, and high accuracy let it reach farther and hit weak points more reliably than most shotguns, but the heavy recoil and lower pellet count make it less forgiving up close than wider-spread alternatives. It rewards deliberate placement over raw pellet saturation.

Zer0 gains less from it than you might expect compared with a same-level purple Scattergun, but the precision still helps land pellets on weak points. Salvador gets reliable ranged damage even from the hip, and Gaige can use it well with Anarchy because the accuracy offsets some of the penalties and the magazine can shrink to 1 for easy stacking. Axton benefits from recoil control, and a Jakobs grip can raise the magazine to 4 rounds. Its high crit profile also suits Nisha's Showdown in The Pre-Sequel.
